The Makita LXT 2-speed DHP458 combi drill that develops up to 88Nm torque. Now with new and improved Lithium-Ion battery technology offering more power and duration with the added benefits of being lighter and more compact and now with the benefit of the Makita 4.0ah Battery BL1840.

Battery fuel gauge The power remaining in the battery can be indicated in 3 stages simply by pushing a button; 3 lights
on: more than 50% of full battery capacity. 2 lights on: 20% to 50% of full battery capacity.
How Does the DHP458RFE (BHP458RFE) Compare to the BHP451RFE it replaced
Although the Makita DHP458 has only 2 speeds rather than the 3 with the BHP451 it has a greater number of torque settings and delivers higher blows per minute over the 2 gears than the BHP451RFE managed to acheive over 3.
Includes 2 x 4.0ah 18v Li-Ion Batteries BL1840 and 36 min charger
Why Choose the Makita BL1840 4.0ah Lithium Ion Battery
36 Minute Charge Time
The Makita 18v 4.0Ah Li-ion batteries charge with existing DC18RA and DC18RC chargers with an unbeatable 36 minute charge time.
Through this two way communication between charger and battery, the charger can recognise the battery and recall its charging history analyse the batteries condition and usage and charge the battery accordingly.
The weight saving means that Makita can have 4.0Ah from a battery weighing the same as the existing BL1830 3.0Ah lithium ion battery.
Not only is it the same weight but also you will have much more power and a longer lasting battery life.
Works With Your Existing Kit
LOOK FOR THE STAR - The 18v 4.0ah Makita BL1840 Battery will work with your 18v machine if it has a star on the connector plate, has a yellow connector plate with a star or has a yellow connector plate only.
