The NSC4218PRO replaces the NSC 40 UD1
The NSC 42 water softener is the most powerful in the North Star® residential range; it is automatic and mono-block and bases its operation on ion exchange and counter-current proportional regeneration. The resins are regenerated only when necessary and its water and salt consumption is based on the actual needs of the user as well as on the forecast levels calculated by the software. The display is backlit and simplifies data reading even in basements or poorly lit places. The LCD display is backlit making data reading simple even in basements or poorly lit places. The water softener consumes up to 47% less salt and up to 50% less water compared to competing products. A water softener protects the pipes, the boiler and the appliances that use water like washing machines and coffee machines.
A Tapworks water softener extracts the hard minerals from the water in your home, which means you experience truly softened water Tapworks’ clever technology means you always have soft water on demand.
The NSC4218 softener maintains the statistical data even in the event of a blackout thanks to the advanced electronics. The LCD display is backlit and makes reading easier even in poorly lit places.
The display shows information such as time, hardness, regeneration time, percentage of residual capacity, hourly flow rate, total and average daily consumption. In addition, the softener is equipped
with a by-pass system with a mixer for hardness regulation and a safety float to avoid the risk of leakage.
The salt cabinet is made of polyethylene in such a way that it does not deform when full unlike inferior products widely available on the market. Quality first.
Diagnostics include
Electronic self-diagnosis
Days of operation
Total number of regenerations
Turbine control

Tapworks Northstar NSC4218PRO Water Softener Saves Salt and Water
Tapworks Northstar Range features the unique proportional Salting with “Genius Chip™” technology whether in Simplex Duplex Triplex or Quadplex operation. The exact amount of salt needed for each regeneration is measured and calculated in proportion to the amount of softened water used since the last regeneration.
In addition to this “Standard Proportional Salting” the “Genius Chip™” also adjusts the salt levels automatically. (This affects operating efficiency) to reflect your consumption. So lower water usage will result in even greater efficiency. Then when you return to higher water usage no problem! the “Genius Chip™” automatically adjusts the salt level to compensate AND increases the the water softener’s maximum capacity!
